About Us
Who we are...
We are a grassroots group of disability advocates, self‑advocates, parents, and allies working to expand inclusive higher education opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Oregon.
Our group came together through the 2025–2026 Partners in Policymaking program with Disability Rights Oregon. Through that experience, we recognized a serious gap in Oregon: too few real, supported pathways for students with IDD to access in higher education in our state.
Our community includes a graduate of Portland State University’s Career & Community Studies program, which is closing this year, as well as parents who believe deeply that our children deserve full access to college life, learning, and opportunity. We know firsthand that higher education can be transformative and that students with IDD belong on campus.
We are trained advocates with experience working with legislators and systems leaders, and we are building a coalition to push for change. Together, we are raising our voices, sharing our stories, and working collaboratively to grow inclusive higher education options for young adults across Oregon.
Higher education should be for everyone, and we’re working to make that true.
Mission
Our mission is to create positive change by uniting community members and tackling local challenges head-on. Through our advocacy work and collaborative projects, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment within the neighborhoods we serve. Join us in building a stronger, more connected community.
We are committed to promoting social justice, equality, and inclusivity in all aspects of our work. By engaging with residents and stakeholders, we strive to amplify diverse voices and create impactful solutions that address the root causes of community issues.
